Mission Statement
What started out as a prank call turned out to become a two hour conversation. This conversation was with a dear friend who has charged himself with an abnormal life. We have lived quite parallel lives for sometime now, with the exception of this: I'm stuck in Austin, Texas while he is living the dream in Pattaya, Thailand. After months of pleading on his behalf, he finally got through to me. I have realized that I must travel to this place to be near my friend and to experience life for once. No more rat-race, cubicle-chase, or self-disgrace. If I am really this unhappy with my life, I should change it, right? So for the next year, I will embark on a personal mission of preparing to live full time in Thailand with my friend Rankin. So I will be using this blog as a forum for many things, all related to the mission at hand, to show the process it takes to pack up your life into a storage unit and happily move to the opposite side of the globe. As a supporter of my friend, I was able to see first-hand what this transition was like for someone to go through, and it got very interesting. Perhaps this personal calling of mine will help to inspire someone else out there who is on the fence about dropping everything for a chance to live abroad.
